Certina 25-661 movement

What you're looking at

A Certina 5306-115 'Town & Country' from around 1967, manual-wind cal. 25-661 with date, 17 jewels, in a gold-plated case. Set aside as a parts donor.

What I know is wrong with it

Dial damaged at 10 o'clock and in poor condition overall. Crystal scratched. Gold plating lifting from the case, with verdigris on the lugs and spring bars. The escape wheel is missing, having been reused in another movement. The keyless works has an incorrect setting lever spring fitted, so the clutch wheel doesn't engage properly when the crown is pulled out to set the time. The balance is present, but the beat error drifts despite repeated regulation — the cause has not yet been identified.

No watch here has been pressure-tested. A period WATERPROOF or WATER RESISTANT stamp says nothing about the seals today, so treat every watch on this site as not water resistant.
